Already A Month....
|Our RV Site in South Texas|
Don't get me wrong....they aren't the only folks that we call friends since we've been here. We've met so many great people we almost feel overwhelmed at times! We met Ed and Marilyn while we were here in 2017. Kellie has stayed in contact with them through Facebook and they ran out and welcomed us when we first arrived this year. They've taken us to Mexico, out to dinner and want to introduce us to South Padre Island along with some local events. Each gathering seems to have additional couples that we can truthfully call friends. It has really been fun.
The weather here has been a roller coaster. The "normal" daytime temperatures are supposed to be in the low 70's and nights in the low 50's. We've seen highs in the low 80's but when a cold front moves through we see daytime temperatures drop into the high 50's to low 60's. As I write this most of the midwest states are getting some of the coldest winter temperatures ever recorded, so I guess we can't complain!
We've been asked from family and friends what we do to stay busy. Well, aside from trying to keep up with our new friends, Kellie has started a workout routine. There is a really nice workout facility here along with a pool and hot tub. They also have line dance classes and water aerobics. I have ridden my bike a couple of times. When the weather is bad we usually hunker down and take care of indoor stuff. I have changed out our video editing software and it's a pretty steep learning curve but I really like the new capabilities. Hopefully you can see the changes in our weekly videos.
Speaking of videos....our YouTube channel is progressing nicely. We started it for our own memories and so family and friends could follow our journey. It seems that others find our adventure interesting as we now have almost 70 subscribers. We really enjoy documenting our trip and hope you find it interesting....or entertaining!
We're already starting to plan our exit from here. Most of our new friends are full-time RVers like us and we've been busy asking questions about where to visit as we head northeast. It seems that most have recommended going through Jacksonville and traveling north through the Carolina's. It's been years since I've been that way and Kellie has never seen that part of the country, so we're really excited to see new places and meet new people. In the meantime, we still have plenty we want to see while here and hope you all will follow along with us....we miss you all!
